Roddy McDowall has been my favorite actor since I was a child of 7 years old. I’m 61 years old now and still watch Roddy’s movies on a regular basis. I enjoy his movies when he was a child but the older I got the more I liked the adult roles in movies and theatre he was in. I saw the play Dial M for Murder in 1996 with my family. It was in Philadelphia in February of 1996. Roddy played Inspector Hubbard and when he entered the stage the applause was so loud that he took a quick bow. I have a postcard he wrote and signed from Universal Studios in October 1976. I was so happy to hear from him and keep that in the Playbill from Dial M for Murder. I will always love this well respected and gifted talent. Rest in Peace Roddy McDowall 🙏✨🙏

By the time I knew who Gloria Swanson was, I mostly knew her from the talk show circuit (esp. Merv Griffin), so I knew she was an intelligent guest with a strong sense of humor. After that, I finally saw Sunset Boulevard and some of her earlier work and REALLY got to appreciate her as an actress. The only thing she and Norma Desmond had in common were that they were both actresses in the Silent era. Swanson was always sharp, quick-witted, "with it," and grounded, which made her the ideal talk show guest. She didn't have to be "doing anything" to be interesting.

Olivier had a fairly long list of ladies he had affairs with while married to Vivien. Imo this was not a great love story.

I watched a program one time that a man said Marilyn was going to have a diary published about her many affairs. The phycologist she had tried to sedate her. Can't remember if he was in that diary or Bobby asked him to do it but,the phycologist injected her with a sedative and the needle went just under her breast but it went into her heart where it broke off killing her. They placed her on her stomach so that all the blood would go to the front of her body and cover up the injection mark. They had moved her body from one place to another. It's to bad we don't have more God fearing and respectful women like her in Hollywood today. Eleanor was a Mayflower Descendent. Of which I am to. From linage of William and Mary Brewster. Eleanor never liked to work on Sunday. To her it was a time to put God first and Faith. For her to minister to children in building their faith was a great contribution to our great country. I believe she was more woman than most guys could handle. Extremely beautiful in every way. And obviously a work ethic we all could use these days. In one of the movies she did with Fred Astaire fir the first three weeks in rehearsing she called him Mr. Astaire and he called her Miss Powell. Then Fred said to her, we need to change this, it seemed to formal, but it showed the respect they had for each other. After that he called her Miss Ellie and she called him Fred. These people were professional all the way. Rest in peace Miss Ellie, we need many more like you.

No she wasn't captured by the Japanese . If she was captured by the Japanese her and Noonan would be sitting next the the other and guarded by Japanese soldiers and there's nothing like it on the photo. Rubbish ! Gloria Swanson was an actress and a woman who enjoyed her work and when one thing dried up she found something else to do . If anyone thinks she was normal Desmond they are stupid . Her silent are still watchable more so then some of the pantomime actresses that over acted and basically looked silly , she could wear a gown better than most of them !
